Volunteering or interning with us is an exciting experience that gives you first hand touch and exposure of what it is that makes a difference in the lives of others. The opportunity is thrilling and you get the chance to build capacity, sharpen and develop your skills in supporting and serving long-term goals in the underserved communities. This experience will equally enhance your resume as you gain hard and soft skills.
Therefore if you are passionate about community social development, and making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable people, KCI is the place for you. We are open to working with open minded and forward thinking, highly motivated, self-driven, creative and talented people who are willing to work in underprivileged hard to reach areas. Please join us today as we seek to alleviate some of the challenges our local communities face. However, be informed that we’re fully staffed but there’s always room for anybody looking to volunteer their time and energy.
Volunteering opportunities at KCI vary and can range from a few days to a month, months or even longer. Key to it is the work we do around vulnerable communities focusing on women and children. You get the opportunity to either volunteer in the office, go to the field which includes visits to families that we support, visit to our children we sponsor, offer counseling and career guidance to our children, skilling of our beneficiaries, offer a hand in the project activities, etc. Some of the areas require technical and others working knowledge.
All in all, our focus is to give you an experience of what it means to work with people from different backgrounds, and having first hand engagement in the frontline.
